This is our signature event, you can choose how far and how fast you ride this event. If you are trying to complete your first Century, this is a great ride because you have the flexibility to decide how far you will push yourself as you ride knowing each loop returns you to the start/end point.
The routes take you on one 50 mile loop and two different 25 mile loops. On the 50 mile loop, there is a rest stop approximately 17 miles out with a bathroom and food and water that can be purchased for $1 from a local merchant. At the 31 mile mark, there is a PBA supported rest stop and at the 40 mile mark, you have another rest stop that is staffed by The staff from Tour de Cure. This rest stop is legendary for great homemade food. After that, lunch is served after you complete the 50 mile course (back at the ball fields, where you begin) After lunch, you will ride the first 25 mile loop that takes you through Chippokes State Park and back to the parking lot. On the second 25 mile loop, you go along a lot of great country roads where once again, you are fed at the Main Rest Stop. Needless to say, you can easily gain weight on this ride!
The registration fee is $20 for members paying in advance and $25 for non-members paying in advance. Online registration closes on Thursday night at midnight. Walk up registrations will cost an extra $10. Registration includes Lunch, Rest Stop Food and Gatorade, SAG Support and Cue Sheets.
T-shirts will not be available this year due to delays by the artist.
There is no charge for entering Chippokes State Park during the ride or for Ferry passage from Jamestown. (If you are coming over from Jamestown/Williamsburg) Check the Ferry Schedule in advance at http://www.virginiadot.org/travel/resources/09100_JamestownFallWinterSpring_2010_update.pdf
SAG Support ends and Rest Stops close at 4:30pm.
