Don Hubbard Memorial Ride and Ice Cream Social

Our Annual August Ride

Open to all PBA members and friends of Don and Eleanor Hubbard.

HELMETS ARE REQUIRED!

Those of you that have been a member of the Peninsula Bicycling Association for awhile remember our founding father, Don Hubbard, loved Ice Cream so we felt that it was fitting to name our annual Ice Cream ride in his honor. His wife, Eleanor and family organize this fun ride every year and the Messick Baptist Church they attend loans us their parking lot and Event Hall so that we have a great location to enjoy our ice cream afterwards. Be sure to check out the "Wall of Fame" featuring Don inside the church.

This is a friendly All Pace ride designed to reinforce fun and friendship in our Club. All members with retro jerseys are encouraged to wear them. It's always fun to see the old jerseys represented!

The Ride:

  • Starting from Messick Baptist Church, 1118 Poquoson Avenue 23662
  • Groups and paces to be determined.

Times:

  • 8:00 am: Don's wife, Eleanor, and daughter, Edith, will be there to speak about his contributions to PBA and send us off on the ride.
  • 11:00 AM: Return and enjoy ice cream and fixings inside the church.

HELMETS ARE REQUIRED!

Information contact: Eleanor Hubbard at 757-595-2897.
