"Dog Days of Summer" Ride around Poquoson

  • July 27, 2014
  • 8:30 AM - 1:00 PM
  • 225 Darden Drive (park near the end of street and in the cup-de-sac)
Since we are getting into the warmer days that we will see for the summer, we are planning to beat the heat by starting a early ride from the Bull Run Subdivision in Poquoson.   This ride is designed to be for either the C pace rider that wants to get a little faster or for a B pace rider that doesn't feel like pushing it.  It is a great opportunity to meet stronger cyclists for social reasons or mentorship.

After we return and put our bikes away, there will be a cookout at the home of Pete and Risa Bastien.  They have a beautiful pool that they are graciously opening it up for the riders to use to cool off.  We still have plenty of hot dogs from our After the Fourth ride so we will fire up the grill.  The Club will supply the Hot Dogs, Buns, Condiments, Paper Products and Utensils.  Risa has a Watermelon in the fridge to rehydrate you.  All that we ask is that you bring a small side dish or dessert to share, a lawn chair and your beverage of choice.

As for parking, Risa lives at the end of the street so you can park in the cup-de-sac.  If there is large group that shows up, we have fabulous neighbors, many are social and they frequently have a lot of cars parking up and down the street and no one minds.  However, Risa may just get teased at the next neighborhood picnic about the spandex warriors running around!

For more information or questions on what to bring, contact Risa at 757-759-3070 or 757-868-0715.
