Cycling 101 Class with a short ride afterwards

  • August 24, 2014
  • 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM
  • Community Education and Outreach Center located at 10188 Warwick Blvd.

Are you fairly new to cycling or returning to cycling and would like to learn more about riding a bike in a group, maintaining your bike as well as finding out where there are some great places to ride?  This is a great opportunity to get hands on instruction and to meet more experienced cyclists that will help you to get started.

We will have a 1 hour course on topics such as sharing the road, knowing the law, what to do before you hit the road, how to ride in a pace line, hand signals and safety tips.

BRING YOUR BIKE, HELMET AND SHOES so that we can take you across the street where there is access to scenic River Road that runs along the James River.  That area is lightly travelled and a great place to take you where you can receive one on one assessments and instruction with peer volunteers.
