Sunday 7/20: In response to PBA demand for more beer, Dave Clarke (the retiree) and Robin Land (the hard working Government employee) will lead a ride from Aleworks this Sunday, July 20th. Aleworks is a microbrewer located in Williamsburg. I can testify the beer is most excellent. The ride will start at 9:30AM. It will be 35 miles-ish up to and around York River State Park. This will be a B/B+ pace ride with a moving speed of 15-20. Since we will be working the kinks out of this new ride, a couple of things to note. Please be able to maintain the pace, there will be (5) hills, and be comfy riding on the road with some traffic (although most will be rural). Bring two bottles of hydration since there aren’t many stores. We will rest York River State Park (20 mile mark). Cue sheets will be provided and we will periodically stop and regroup. There will be opportunities for sprints for those who want to stretch their legs. After the ride we will partake of the adult beverages (Aleworks opens at noon). There is no food served, so I will have a couple of snacks. Feel free to bring something along. Beer runs ~ $5/glass. If others would just like join for refreshments or if some would like to lead another pace, please join! Aleworks address is 189B Ewell Rd, Williamsburg, VA 23188. For those familiar with Waller Mill, it is about 5 min away from that location. Hope to see you there!
